We are proud to provide a welcoming alternative where you can receive customised preventative dental hygiene care.

We cater to clients of all ages including children, adults and seniors in a safe and relaxing environment.

A healthy smile is a beautiful smile!
As oral health is directly related to your overall health, MBDental uses your initial exam visit to set a course to achieve your goals.

For some, this can include laser treatments and multiple cleaning visits; for others, this may simply be determining the frequency of maintenance visits.

Whatever it may be, together we can get there.

Approximately 30 minutes of your time is required. On this visit your hygienist will cover:

  • Review your medical & dental history (prior to your visit)

  • Comprehensive Dental Hygiene Exam

  • Complete charting

  • Use probe to assess periodontal status

  • Perform a visual oral cancer screening

  • Assess current hygiene habits

  • Use an intra-oral camera

What does a professional dental cleaning involve?

Professional dental cleanings are usually performed by Registered Dental Hygienists.

Your cleaning appointment will include:

  • Removal of plaque: Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is actually a living, growing colony of bacteria that feed on food debris on the tooth surface and sometimes beneath the gum line. As they feed, the bacteria produce toxins that inflame the gums and cause periodontal disease.

  • Removal of tartar: Tartar is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now firmly attached to the tooth surface. Tartar forms above and below the gum line, and can only be removed with special dental instruments.

  • Teeth polishing: Your dental hygienist will also use special polishing equipment to remove stains and plaque that was not already removed during tooth brushing and scaling.

Air-Flow

Air-Flow is a dental hygiene technology that utilizes a combination of air, water, and a fine powder to perform dental cleanings. This system is designed to remove dental plaque, stains, and biofilm from the teeth and dental surfaces more effectively than traditional methods.

02

Fluoridation

Fluoride was introduced into dentistry over 70 years ago, and it is now recognized as the main factor responsible for the dramatic decline in caries prevalence that has been observed worldwide.

In the 1980s, it was established that fluoride controls caries mainly through its topical effect.

Topical fluoride can also provide antimicrobial action.

Our Hygienist offers topical fluoride straight after Scale & Polish procedure to achieve highest benefit of fluoride. For more information about fluoride and the fee, please speak to our hygienist on your appointment.

Bad Breath

Bad breath is actually very common, and usually the persons with it are unaware they even have it. Nevertheless, the bad breath cure is effective and relatively fuss-free.

In 90% of cases, bad breath is generated in the mouth, where bacteria produce gases which tend to smell like rotten eggs. These bacteria often hide in the areas that you miss when you clean your teeth, as well as on the back of your tongue.

Smoking is another prime culprit – by drying your mouth it makes the odour worse and also builds-up harmful tar and nicotine inside your mouth.

Under our care, we will investigate your mouth, diagnose the exact cause of your bad breath and show you exactly how to tackle it as part of your regular routine. If gum disease is the cause of halitosis, our expert dental hygienists will clean the pockets between your teeth and gums to remove the ingrained bacteria.

If you have any concerns about the freshness of your breath please do not be embarrassed to tell us. Once we are aware of your concerns we can act to ensure your confidence is restored quickly. Before your appointment do not smoke, use any mouthwashes or chew any gum. Try not to wear any after shave or perfumes. This will allow us to make a fair judgement as to whether a problem exists.
